Yu Cristina Sun Chen - Aerow
Climbing has seen rapid growth worldwide, both as a professional sport and a popular recreational activity.
Bouldering, however, has traditionally been male-dominated, creating barriers for many new participants. Aerow is designed to challenge this imbalance by fostering a more inclusive and supportive climbing community. Aerow is a community-driven app open to all skill levels, with a particular focus on beginners. It aims to make climbing more approachable by shifting the emphasis away from performance and towards confidence, encouragement, and shared progress. By addressing feelings of intimidation or uncertainty, the app helps users feel more comfortable entering and participating in the climbing environment. More than just a digital tool, Aerow represents a cultural shift within climbing. It encourages a sense of belonging, ensuring that people of all genders, heights, and physical abilities feel welcome. Ultimately, Aerow supports users not only in starting their climbing journey but in continuing it with confidence.
