Dani Cumiskey - Escapism

Escapism is a short film that follows a mistreated main character with a difficult home life as they go through different ways to cope with how they are feeling.

Each different "escape" is portrayed by the changing of locations and person who is confronting them. This story takes inspiration from some real world struggles that people go through. By using colours, specific locations and character movements the story is able to be understood just by looking at it. This project is about highlighting what someone could be going through behind closed doors and what kind of struggles are going on inside their mind, it encourages the audience to think of their friends and family and to help them understand what could be going on in their lives even when you're not around, it aims to create empathy and awareness while also portraying a visually appealing story.
