Brendan Brogan - PRY

A young man down on his luck develops an unlikely obsession when a mysterious wooden box tumbles from a hallway cupboard.

Convinced that whatever's inside could solve all his problems, he wages an increasingly unhinged war to open it. Armed with kitchen cutlery, garden tools, a dodgy stool, and a mule-like stubbornness, he spirals into a bruising, darkly comic battle of wills: man versus object, hope versus reality, and the creeping suspicion that the universe might be laughing at him. Blending splintering carnage with a quiet undercurrent of melancholy, this short film explores whether life's real damage comes from disappointment itself - or from how desperately we throw ourselves against it.
