Fiachra McGrath - In Loving Memory

A short film that explores the effects of grief and tragic loss on young men, in a world where there is a stigma surrounding men's mental health and the ability to communicate their emotions.

This film tells the story of a group of troubled young men facing the devastating loss of their friend to suicide and the toxic ways in which these friends distract themselves and avoid their feelings. As they embark on their road trip, an ominous presence follows them, with their mental states unravelling as the journey progresses, until they reach a boiling point where they must face a dark, emotional confrontation. This is a story about the consequences of what happens when we don't speak up about our feelings, as well as the consequences that suicide can leave on the loved ones left to pick up the pieces, but is also about overcoming fear and grief and realising there is beauty in everyday life and the people around us.
