CDM Year 2 – Website Design 2

“The Most Effective Design Has a Narrative Thread”
Kit Heinrichs

Narrative in design is a way to help clients tell a story about their personality and what they value most. Designers use their voice to hold the viewers interest, draw the viewer’s attention, and prompt an emotional reaction. Second year students were asked to pick a topic and use the medium of web design to tell a creative, inspiring and engaging story that appeals on an emotional level to viewers.

Little Big Imagination

The “Little Big Imagination” project involved students of St. Patrick’s National School in Corduff writing a short story as part of their normal class work. The children then acted as ‘clients’ in a one to one briefing meeting with ITB Creative Digital Media students where their stories were transformed into inspiring graphics to match their narrations. The result of this project was an illustrative book containing all the children’s stories with graphics to match. Website: www.creativedigitalmedia.ie/littlebigimagination.
