Fingal Community Enterprise Hub Website

Continual Assessment for the second year Website Design 1 module followed a website design life-cycle, giving students an opportunity to plan, design and develop an online presence for the newly established Final Community Enterprise Hub with the assistance of Paul Murgatroyd, Operations Manager at BASE Enterprise Centre, Dublin 15. Following an initial scoping process, students moved onto functional specification, content design, through to prototyping, visual design, development and testing stages. Following a review of completed sites; CDM Year 2 student Aishling Smith’s responsive submission was chosen to represent the organisation online @ http://fingalceh.ie/

Little Big Imagination Project

A civic engagement project with the students of St. Patrick’s National School in Corduff, “Little Big Imagination” was a collaborative initiative between the national school students and Creative Digital Media second-year Visual Communication students.

Creative writing penned by the budding young authors was then interpreted through illustration by CDM students, resulting in a publication and launch of the “Little Big Imagination” book of collected short stories.

Parallax Websites with St Patrick’s National School, Corduff

Well done to CDM second years on the completion of the first assignment for the Website Design II module. During the Visual Communications module in semester 1, students visited pupils of St Patrick’s National School, Corduff, where they met with more than seventy 6th  class students who kindly shared originally penned short stories with the group. Website Design CSS3 Narrative Projects

Last semester, second year CDM students combined their creative design skills and technical web expertise to create some fantastic websites in the Website Design II module. The brief was flexible; students had to tell a story via the web, and it had to be about themselves. The challenge was to be as creative and innovate with the medium as possible, resulting in some very impressive websites. Visual Communications Branding Project

CDM students recently completed branding projects in the Year 2 Visual Communications II module. Responding to a structured design process, original symbols were developed from ideation to paper and vector; then combined with typographic elements to construct a unique brand identity and promotional material, culminating in print preparation and production.
