New Killbarrack Youth Project website designed by CDM year 2

Well done to the CDM second year students, who worked closely with Kilbarrack Youth Project, resulting in a brand new website designed and developed by Guitar Egbon.

The Website Design module continuous assessment project, tasked students with designing and developing a new web presence for the Dublin 5 community group. (more…)

Uniquely Dublin Competition

Uniquely Dublin is a public arts competition that invites the public, both amateur and professional, to submit work in a number of categories answering the question “Why love Dublin?”

There is a €10,000 prize for the winning entry, and €1,000 for the winner of each category. Work will be shown all over Dublin in the Spring of 2013.

Digital Biscuit Film and Animation Competition

Deadline: 18th January

As part of their Digital Biscuit event the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland is launching its first Young Animators Award. Digital Biscuit is a series of 20 programmed talks and technology expositions over three days on the 24th -26th of January 2013 in the Science Gallery that will bring together global film industry leaders including directors David Yates (Harry Potter) and Pete Doctor (Toy Story).

The rules:
- Your animation must be between 10 seconds and 2 minutes long.
- You animation must incorporate the ‘digital biscuit’ theme in some way – visually, verbally or conceptually.

The judges:
- Jason Tammemagi (COSMO, Monster Animation)
- Joel Simon (Flickerpix Animations)
- Steve Woods (National Film School, Head of the SDGI Animation Committee)

The prize:
- Your animation will be premiered at Digital Biscuit to an audience of animators, directors, industry professional and film-loving public.
- A day of mentoring at Academy Award Nominated Brown Bag Studios

Submission:
Animations should be uploaded as a private video to youtube or vimeo and the link sent to admin@sdgi.ie. with subject line “Animation Award Your Name”
