Canon Legria HFS10: Quick Test
Hi all, I shot some video a while back with our new Canon Legria HFS10 Camcorders and have not had a chance to do anything with it until now. I brushed up on my Final Cut skills and did a quick edit of the footage I got.
The footage was shot at full HD on the HFS10 at 30fps, all handheld, no tripod or steady cam. I used Final Cut and did a Log and Transfer to import the footage from the cameras memory into the Final Cut (FC). Once in FC I did a very quick edit of my clips, dragged them onto the timeline and included some transformations between clips.
I was interested to see how I could export my HD footage from FC to YouTube without too much loss of quality. Rather then playing around with the export settings (of which there are many!!!), I gave in and did a GOOGLE search and came up with a very useful YouTube clip explaining how to do it. I’m sure their are many ways to achieve this, but this way seemed easy. So I gave it a go.
Here is a link to the YouTube clip….YouTube – How To Export Videos to HD Using Final Cut Pro
You can watch the youTube video for more detailed info but the basic settings are as follows:
Quicktime Compression using MP4 wrapper and H.264 encoding at 1800kbps and 1280×720 at 16:9 HD.
Anyway, see what you think.
