Typographic Portraits

2nd year students were asked to carefully study the features of their face, while composing a sketch. Using only typographic elements they communicated their features using typographic characters and glyphs alone, firstly in a collage on paper, and secondly in digital format.

Sketches

The sketches demonstrated that innate drawing skills were not the most important factor in communicating character – carful concentration while paying attention to the changing contours yielded some great results… Hover over the pictures if you need some help recognising your class-mates!
