This first year Introduction to Digital Media students were tasked with producing an ITB promotional video to be used as part of the Institutes web based marketing campaign. Students were given about 30 minutes training with cameras prior to this assignment, and had less that one day to capture all of their footage.
Visual Language 1st years were tasked with representing celbrity’s while communicating three different concpets (evil, masculine, feminine, intelligent, wealthy). They used visual elements including signs, symbols, locations, placement colour and scale to change the context of an original image. Continue reading article →

I’m finally up and running 🙂
Congratulations to Photo Soc for their great exhibition last week, excellent job. I also heard they are the most successful society, with the fastest growing numbers in the college. Before the exhibition they had 36 members, and now have a grand total of 47. They will be launching a new assignment very soon, where everyone in photo soc will have to create pictures, with the theme of ‘A Day in their Life’. Looking forward to seeing the results already.
2nd year students were asked to carefully study the features of their face, while composing a sketch. Using only typographic elements they communicated their features using typographic characters and glyphs alone, firstly in a collage on paper, and secondly in digital format.
